Message For You - Living a Life of True Power

Genesis 12:1-4

The image that many people have of living a powerful life is that of a life of affluence and influence, and fame and fortune. In today’s society, someone living a powerful life would be someone who has more; more money, more prestige, and more material possessions than others. We tend to focus on what we can see. We put emphasis and energy in the outward appearance; what’s external to us takes priority in our lives. The truth is, living a life of true power comes from living by what we cannot see. It is internal living. It is living from the God within. It is a life that is lived by faith, knowing that God is in us, and our power comes from God. In the Hebrew Scriptures, the story of Abraham is an excellent example of one who lived a life of true power because he lived by faith in God. Abraham’s life story is worth noting in how he related to God. Abraham listened to God. The Bible says, “The Lord said to Abram, “..go to the land that I will show you.� He listened and followed God. Listening to God is a very important step in living a powerful life. God is always speaking to us. We must remember to take time to be still and listen to God within us. Abraham believed God. He believed that God spoke to him; and God would guide him to this new land. Living a life of true power is what God wants for each of us, and God will guide us to that which is good. Belief that God is always with us and listening and following God within us is the key that will unlock the door to true power. Be encouraged! Find God within you! And find the powerful you!
